How the calculation works
The calculator counts full calendar years first, then the remaining full months, then the remaining days, the same way you would count on a calendar. Total days, weeks and hours are measured from midnight on the date of birth to midnight on the chosen date.

Is my date of birth stored?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your date of birth is never sent to our servers.
Can I calculate age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the “Calculate age on” date to find an age at any point, for example for school admission, a visa form or a legal deadline.
How are leap years handled?
Leap days are counted in the totals. For people born on 29 February, the next birthday is shown as 1 March in non-leap years.
